Jackie Edward Gross

Jackie Edward Gross, age 74, of Big Clifty, passed away Monday, (May 13, 2024) at his home with his family by his side. He was born on June 2, 1949 in Edmonson County, KY, the son of his late father, Guy Gross, and his mother, Janie Dravis Gross.

He was a full time mechanic and owner of Jackie’s Auto and Truck Parts until he retired. After retirement he followed his passion of farming, where he enjoyed working with his cattle, hay fields, and John Deere tractors. He loved to work on his farm, fish, and liked to drag race in his younger days.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of them. He married his wife, Doris Howard Gross on June 12, 2009.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Gross of Big Clifty; children, John Gross of Big Clifty, Michael Gross (Serena) of Big Clifty, Janet Cook (Donald) of Leitchfield, and Rebecca Nelson (Paul) of Clarkson; his mother, Janie Gross of Big Clifty; step-children, Jody Love (Bonnie) of Big Clifty, Steven Love (Pam) of Big Clifty and Kevin Love (Ashley) of Clarkson; sisters, Mary Hudson, and Macie Terry of Big Clifty; brother, Buddy Gross (Linda) of La Grange; nine grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.

Other than his father, Guy Gross, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Masey.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (May 18, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Chris McGuffin will be officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery in East View.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 .m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
