William Bradley Lewis was born, March 6, 1943, in Barren County, Kentucky, a son of the late Rev. John Lewis and Bessie Lewis Woods. With only a 6th grade education, he did not let this keep him from accepting the call God had for his life. Rev. Lewis pastored Pleasant Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church for 56 years and Ole’ Rocky Hill Baptist Church for 52 years. As he shared the love and spirit of his heavenly Father, Rev. Lewis has touched the lives of many. In 1962, Rev. Lewis married Betty Crowe and to this union 5 children were born Rev. Lewis was a former employee of The State Highway Department, Gillie Hyde Car Dealership, and retired after 39 years from Holley Carburetor where he ran the Governor line. Rev. Lewis organized the Community Wide Revival Week that brought both black and white churches together for worship. He presently served as the 2nd Moderator of the Liberty District, Spiritual Guide for the Liberty District Usher Board, Bunche Board of Directors for 15 years and was the longest active Pastor in the Liberty District. On, March 3, 2012, Rev. Lewis married Brenda Buford. The time they shared together brought much joy to their lives.

As the night air settled in on Sunday, April 28, 2024, Rev. Lewis received rest from all his labor as he joined those passed before him; his first wife, Betty Jean Lewis; son, Ricky Lewis; brothers and sisters, Rev. Charles Lewis, Nintha Mae Skiles, Melissa McKay, Beatrice Swan, Churcha Lewis, Fred Lewis, Porter Lewis, Tompey Lewis, A. C. Lewis, Roger Lewis, Rev. Mitchell Lewis, Robert Lewis, and Rev. Oliver Lewis.

The memories of Rev. William Bradley Lewis will be cherished by his wife, Brenda Buford Lewis; children, Mickey (Jane) Lewis, Marshell (Rev. Jeff) Williams, Timmy (Evelina) Lewis and Stephanie Lewis (Lori); grandchildren, Markcus, Laneus, Janae, Micky II; several step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Frank (Laura) Lewis; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
