James “Bear” Flora age 74 of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at 2:15 am at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family. Bear as he lovingly known was born in Bowling Green to the late Clarence and Nola Richards Flora.
He retired from NAPA Auto Parts. He was a Baptist and served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He loved going to car shows, camping and fishing.
He is also preceded in death by his deceased sister, Glenda Ray “Red” Galloway and a brother-in-law Rick Walton.
Bear is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Flora. His sons. Jessie Flora and his wife Kathy. Alan Flora all of Bowling Green. Four grandchildren, Nicholas Flora, Chase Flora, Rowan Frady, and Chloe Flora. Sister-in-law, Clara Anderson (Jerry), of Richmond, KY. brother- in-law, Dan Walton of Bowling Green. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at the J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapel on Broadway with burial in the Bowling Green Gardens Church. Visitation will begin on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and after 9:00 am Saturday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel.
