Sammy Wooten Jr., 86, of Sonora, passed away Saturday March 23, 2024 at his residence in Sonora.
He was born in Glasgow to Sammie and Edna Cheatham Wooten Sr. He owned Sammy’s Market and Restaurant and Sammy Wooten Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his wife, May Nelda Lohden Wooten, parents, three brothers, Phillis Wooten, Larry Wooten, Jerry Wooten, one sister, Carolyn Oakes.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna (John) Givens of Nicholasville, KY, three sons, Michael Wooten of Louisville, KY, Mark (Dawn) Wooten of Sonora, KY, Matt (Leslie) Wooten of Louisville, KY, niece, Sue (Ryan) Akers of Sonora, KY, a sister, Margie Kerney of Glasgow, KY, seven grandchildren, Courtney, Curtis, Josh, Chrystal, Sammy, Hannah, Dustin, nine great grandchildren, Talan, Bailee, Cailey, Addilyn, Emma, Joshua, Hazel, Destini, and Andrew.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday March 26, 2024 11:00 am at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora, KY with Rev. Drew Hayes officiating. Burial will be held at the Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm or Tuesday 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
