Carolyn Barnes age 80 of Bowling Green passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024. Carolyn was born in Amarillo, Texas to the late Cecil Larry and Dorothy Louise (Baker) Ballard. She is a member of the Richpond Baptist Church, formerly a school teacher with Glasgow Schools. Carolyn had a love for teaching and Mission Work. She was a Sunday School Teacher and former President of the Baptist Young Womens in Pasadena, Texas. She is preceded in death by her brother Larry Don Ballard.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bro. Bob Barnes, two daughters, Cathy Louise Ropp (Powell) of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Jill Marie Moore (Yancy) of LaGrange, Kentucky, and four grandchildren, Edwin Ropp, Jack Clark, Mary Clark, and Ardyn Moore.
Funeral Services for Carolyn Barnes will be conducted Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at the Richpond Baptist Church in Bowling Green with Bro. Steve Hussung officiating and burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel and Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until funeral time at 3:00 P.M. at Richpond Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be the Active and Inactive Elders of Richpond Baptist Church.
The family asks that donations be made to the Richpond Baptist Church or to Oak Grove Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
