Lois “Jean” Emmert

Lois “Jean” Emmert, age 77, of Summer Shade, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. She was born on March 5, 1946, the daughter of the late Harold Hopkins and Eunice Wall Hopkins. Jean retired as a receiving clerk from Kamtech and loved spending her time doing crafts and fishing.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-six years, Jerry Emmert of Summer Shade, two sons; Brad Shockley and wife Amy of Texas and Jeremy Emmert, two sisters; Donna Durham of Illinois, and Karen Hicks of Texas, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Bill Hopkins and Harold Hopkins, and one sister; Kay Wilson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow at Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Bro. Jason Page will officiate the services.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning, after 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude in memory of Mrs. Emmert.
