Leroy Smith, 79, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Saturday, September 9th, while in the company of family, at T J Samson Hospital, Glasgow, KY.
Leroy was born in Metcalfe County, KY on February 20, 1944, a son of the late Evelyn (Syra) and Howard Smith. Leroy was a farmer, in his early years a truck driver in Louisville, Member of the Monroe County Fiscal Court 3 terms, he worked for the Monroe County Road Dept. & was Baptized at Cyclone Church of Christ.
Leroy is survived by grand- daughter, Erica, wife of Terry Eldrige, grand- son, Caleb, husband of Chelsea Smith & daughter-in-law, Wendy Smith, all of Tompkinsville, KY; step son, Wesley, husband of Danielle Bray, of Tompkinsville, KY; 5 great-grandchildren, Braxton & Nolan Eldrige, Lima & Kyle Smith & Madeline Bray. Leroy is also survived by a sister, Lola Curry, of Edmonton, KY; a brother, Louis, husband of Betty Underwood, of Edmonton, KY. several nieces, nephews & many friends.
His Parents, Howard & Evelyn Smith, son, Jeff Smith, brothers, Jim & Charlie Smith & nephews, David Harris & Michael Smith preceded him in death.
Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon on Wednesday, September 13th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Bryan Humphrey will officiate.
Visitation will be held 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday, September 11th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, 8 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday, September 12th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY & 8 AM to 12 PM on Wednesday, September 13th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.
