Kentucky State Police conducting death investigation in Warren County

BOWLING GREEN – On August 27, just before 11:00am, KSP Post 3 in Bowling Green received a call from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources requesting investigative assistance regarding a deceased male who had been located in the Barren River.

The initial investigation determined that on August 26 around 7:15pm, a Fish and Wildlife Conservation Officer made contact with Robert Britt, 47, of Bowling Green.  Britt fled on foot and entered into the Barren River. Kentucky State Police initiated a missing person investigation and officers attempted to locate Britt. Local rescue personnel, including watercraft, were utilized but they were unable to locate him. Rescue personnel and divers located Britt’s remains in the Barren River on Sunday morning.

KSP Post 3 Detective Johnathan Carlock is conducting the ongoing investigation. KSP personnel, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Warren County Emergency Management, Richardsville Fire Department, and Warren County Coroner’s Office assisted him at the scene.
