John Halcomb Graves, 76, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at his residence. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Gunter Roofing and Construction, a Viet Nam U. S. Army veteran and member of Red Hill General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Ray Graves and Ada Euree Hargett Graves and husband of the late Denise Graves.
He is survived by 2 sons: John Brandon Graves and fiancée’ Christy Rowland, Scottsville, KY and William Joshua Graves and wife, Lauren, Lexington, KY; 1 daughter: Kristy Graves and husband, Jarrod, Scottsville, KY; 9 grandchildren: Brack Sikes (Amber), Austin Graves, Madison England, Hunter Graves, Lane Graves, Keaton Graves, Colton Graves, Ford Graves and Oakley Graves; 2 great grandchildren: Blair and Leland.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Jessie Wood and 2 brothers: Bobby Graves and Larry Graves.
Funeral service will be 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Edwards officiating with cremation to follow and burial at a later date in Red Hill General Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Red Hill Cemetery Fund.
