Geraldine Melvin, age 74, of Canmer, KY, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at her residence in Canmer, KY. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working along side her husband of 58 years on the farm and instructing him on tending to her roses. She was a member of the Hopewell Church.
She was the daughter of the late Wiley Leroy McKinney and the late Ovada McKinney. She was also preceded in death by two daughters Teresa Lynn Melvin and Martha Joyce Perkins, son-in-law Billy Perkins, sisters Brenda Gail Robinson, Betty Louise Logsdon and a brother TOmmy McKinney.
She is survived by her husband; Kenneth Melvin; six sisters, Becky Jewell (Freddie), Canmer, KY, Carolyn Robertson (Tony), Horse Cave, KY, Ann Smith (Joel), Glasgow, KY, Sue Robertson, Shady Grove, KY, Deloris Vetters, Columbia, KY, Lisa Woods, Glasgow, KY; three brothers, Larry McKinney, Hardyville, KY, Leroy McKinney, Canmer, KY, Ronnie McKinney, Canmer, KY and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM CT, Thursday, May 4, 2023 and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Friday, May 5, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM CT, Friday, May 5, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Ronald Riordan officiating. Interment will be at Pearl Webb Cemetery, Canmer, KY.
