GLASGOW – The Glasgow Electric Plant Board reports just over 150 total customers are without electric service as of Saturday evening.
WCLU News spoke with Aaron Russell, the GEPB marketing and communications director around 6 p.m. Saturday. He said the utility company hopes to have all power restored to customers by midday Sunday.
According to Russell, all of the outages affecting large numbers of customers have been restored. Most outages are currently small, isolated incidents.
A crew from Marietta, GA. is expected to arrive late Saturday night to assist current crews with the final restoration efforts.
Less than 1,000 customers are without cable and internet service according to Russell. That’s down from 6,000 at the peak of the outages on Friday.
“Once power restoration is completed then a good portion of our cable and internet customers should be back up,” Russell said, “but we will be looking also into isolated incidents when cable lines are down, cable lines are damaged, etc., and working with our customers to get everything back up and working for every single cable and internet customer in our service area.”
To report a outage call (270) 651-8341 and press 0. Russell urged customers to be patient as there is only five to seven employees in the dispatch center working around the clock.
