GLASGOW — Several new employees were added to the county government’s payroll on Tuesday after magistrates approved a slew of recommendations put forth by Barren County Judge/Executive Jamie Byrd.
The new court held their first meeting together Tuesday morning inside the Barren Fiscal Courtroom. The meeting was special-called. Byrd told members of the news media Tuesday that they will continue meeting the third Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. “for now.”
As a part of those hirings, magistrates approved salaries and pay for those positions. Those are listed below and were effective upon the court’s approval.
Juanita Adwell was hired as an administrative assistant. Her salary is $33,280.
Tammie Branstetter was hired as the finance officer and fiscal court clerk. Her salary is $50,000.
Beau Jones was hired as the deputy county judge/executive and solid waste coordinator. His salary is $40,000.
Garland Gillum was hired as the emergency management director and deputy coroner. His salary is $60,000.
Marcus Thurman was hired as the deputy emergency management director and deputy coroner. His salary is $20,000.
Chris Jennings was hired as the Barren County Parks and Recreation Director. His salary is $45,000.
Susan Gibson was hired as the emergency management administrator. Her salary is $8,000. She was also hired as an administrative manager. Her salary in that position is $41,600.
Jenny Hoffman was re-hired as the county treasurer. Her salary is $41,600.
Kathryn Troyes was hired as a janitor. Her salary is $18,000.
Minnie C. Bullock was hired as a receptionist. Her position is compensated through a workforce development grant.
Chris Billingsley was hired to complete maintenance as needed. His hourly rate is $34.
Phil Ferguson was hired to complete maintenance. His salary is $22,000.
Daddy Jack Solutions LLC, owned by Justin Browning, was hired to assist with technology on a part-time basis. The entity will be compensated $3,600.
Jamie DeGroft was hired as the road supervisor. Their salary is $56,150.
Several people will be paid hourly. Those positions are road department positions.
Stephen Bulle was hired at a hourly rate of $18.
Daniel Bunch was hired at a hourly rate of $20.
Gregory Greer was hired at a hourly rate of $17.25.
Chad Livingston was hired at a hourly rate of $20.
Cary Proffitt was hired at a hourly rate of $17.
Derek Rogers was hired at a hourly rate of $18.
Allen Thomas was hired at a hourly rate of $20.
Scott Taylor was hired at a hourly rate of $20.
