Herbert Eugene Fuqua, 92, of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Medical Center at Scottsville. The Lafayette, TN native was a retired district manager for Tri-County EMC where he worked for 41 years, a 27 year member of the Scottsville Fire Department where he served as Chief for many years, a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ, member of Bethany Church of Christ where he formerly served as Sunday school teacher and deacon, gunsmith and built Flintlock rifles and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a son of the late Robert Addison Fuqua and Helen Lavon Cliburn Fuqua and husband of the late Delsie Olene Whittimore Fuqua whom he married December 10, 1949.
He is survived by 2 sons: Dwight Fuqua and wife, Pama, Sparta, TN and Keith Fuqua, Scottsville, KY;
2 brothers: Louie Fuqua, Lafayette, TN and James Fuqua, Bowling Green, KY;
1 sister: Shirley Palmer, Westmoreland, TN;
4 grandchildren: Michelle Schaar (Chris), Tracy Smith (Ryan), Jason Fuqua (Rachel) and Sarah Bennett (Harry);
12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Evelyn Smalling.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Neal Pollard and Bro. Terry Hendricks officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
