GLASGOW — One person was arrested Tuesday following a fire along Grandview Avenue.

Glasgow Police said the fire started in the early morning hours, and it appeared to have a suspicious origin.

Detective Guy Turcotte investigated the incident and later arrested Kermit L. Hall Jr., 55, of Glasgow. He had stayed in the structure the night before and allegedly started the fire in the living room area by lighting a bag of charcoal in a tin pan. The fire then spread across the living room area, according to a news release.

Hall apparently fled the structure through a window after the fire broke out. He faces charges of third degree criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.
