Hart County man charged with murder of Glasgow man

MAGNOLIA — A Glasgow man is dead after an alleged murder in Hart County on Monday.

Kentucky State Police said they responded to a shooting call around 5:44 p.m. Troopers responded to the scene located at 92 Eve Highway.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Dennis Wells, 62, of Magnolia, was in a verbal altercation with William Kelleher, 31, of Glasgow. Wells allegedly brandished a firearm and fired multiple rounds at Kelleher, striking him in multiple times.

Kelleher was transported from the scene to Baptist Health Hardin Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was later transported via helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died.

Wells was arrested and charged with murder. He is lodged at the Hart County Jail.

The investigation continues.
