Evadine (White) Abney

Mrs. Evadine (White) Abney, passed from this life on her 95th birthday, October 15, 2022, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky surrounded by family.  She was born on October 15, 1927, the daughter of the late Harlie and Mae Leona (Crabtree) White.  She graduated from Tompkinsville High School in 1946 and married William “Bill” Abney shortly after.  She retired from Red Kap Industries in the 80s, and after retiring from Red Kap, she went on to work as an instructional aide at TES.  She was a member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children; Sandy and her husband Gary Conkin of Cookeville, Tennessee, William I. Abney, of Bowling Green, Penny and her husband John Bryant of Lexington, Kentucky, and a daughter-in-law, Laura Abney of Sanatobia, Mississippi. One brother; Harlie White Jr. of Campbellsville, Kentucky, and eleven grandchildren; Jonna & Dean Durbin, Jason & Christina Bryant, David Abney III, Julie & Matthew Carmack, Jill & Brent Bertram, William & Maydie Conkin, Jenny & Andy Jacobs, Kristan & Spencer Bryant, Ian & Stephanie Bryant, Kendall & David McDaniel, and Cassidy & Chris Keeton, along with twenty-three great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents, and husband she was preceded in death by her son, David Abney, one brother, Kenneth Douglas White, and three sisters; Mary Nelle Lugannani, Catherine Louise Napier, and Ruby Frances Kidwell.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, Kentucky with interment to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.  Visitation with the family will take place on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until time for services at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to Tompkinsville Church of Christ, The American Cancer Society, Friendship Tower, or Bluegrass Christian Camp in memory of Mrs. Evadine.
