GLASGOW — Motorists in Barren County could experience traffic delays along Highway 90 on Saturday as Entertain Glasgow hosts its Groove & Glow event.
The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17. The event at Glasgow Municipal Airport’s Moore Field will create significant traffic impacts along Highway 90 toward Cave City.
Several activities are expected at the event for adults and children, including live music from Barren County native Kenton Bryant, food trucks and tethered hot air balloon rides. This year’s event will be the second one held.
Glasgow Police said they are preparing to assist motorists to the site. The first event included traffic congestion for nearly a mile leading to the municipal airport.
“This year, they’ve changed up a little bit on the exit strategy,” said Glasgow Police Major Terry Flatt.
The plan includes an exit from the airport to Martin Road and then to Dripping Springs Road. Motorists will still enter the area along Airport Road from Happy Valley Road/ Highway 90.
“Basically, that will eliminate some of the traffic on Happy Valley Road,” he said.
The event is free to the public.
