GLASGOW — Entertain Glasgow announced this week that its second annual hot air balloon event will take place Saturday, Sept. 17.

Groove and Glow is scheduled again to be hosted at Glasgow Municipal Airport’s Moore Field. The event will kick off at 4 p.m. Several activities for adults and kids, live music and food trucks will be a part of the event, according to a news release. There will be free tethered hot air balloon rides beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a balloon glow at dusk.

The afternoon will include live music from local artists with a headlining act from Barren County native, Kenton Bryant. Bryant has made a name for himself by writing music for the likes of the Randy Rogers Band, Craig Campbell, Kameron Marlowe, and upcoming songs with Luke Combs and Kip Moore.

The title sponsors of the event are returning sponsor, T.J. Regional Health, alongside Phillips IGA.

“Both are excited to sponsor as a way to give back to the community they consider family,” the news release said. “T.J. Regional Health’s sponsorship is part of their 12 Months of T.J. initiative to thank Glasgow and surrounding communities for their ongoing support during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Admission to the event is free. Food, beverages, and fast passes for the tethered balloon rides will be available for purchase.

More information about the event can be found at entertainglasgow.com or on the Entertain Glasgow Facebook page. Additional sponsors and volunteers are needed. Anyone interesting in sponsoring the event or volunteering on Sept. 17 should contact April Russell at (270) 651-5977 or via email at entertainglasgow@gmail.com

Entertain Glasgow is a local volunteer group that plans free community events. The event and others solely put on by a group of volunteers.
