BOWLING GREEN — Attorneys for the city of Glasgow and three police officers are seeking medical records ahead of a trial involving the death a Scottsville man who died in police custody two years ago.
Jeremy Marr, a former Scottville resident, died after an encounter with police on April 14, 2020. His wife, Joanna, and a juvenile child filed suit in federal court March 2021 and alleged his death was wrongful, among other allegations.
The latest notice is a subpoena duces tecum – a type of court order requiring a witness to produce documents pertaining to a proceeding – for medical records.
The order seeks records from hospitals and clinics in Glasgow, Bowling Green and Scottsville. Attorneys also requested records from Life Skills of Bowling Green.
Parties have until the close of business on Friday, July 22, 2022, to file objections to the subpoena, according to the notice filed by Matthew P. Cook, an attorney with Kerrick Bachert lawfirm.
The latest deadline in the case is May 30, 2023, which is for dispositive motions. The case will likely go to trial after that point.
