KINO — A Barren County man was arrested in connection to a Sunday night shooting along Billingsley Road.

Gregori M. Dillard, 38, was arrested at the Barren County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday evening after an interview with Barren County Sheriff’s deputies.

The victims of the shooting alleged a white male fired a round toward their vehicle when they turned onto Billingsley Road. Both victims said they heard the bullet go by their truck window. They told authorities “they were in fear for their lives,” according to an arrest citation.

The victims said Dillard placed the gun in his pants and fled toward Kino Road.

In the interview Wednesday evening, Dillard admitted he was on Billingsley Road. He said he had been drinking and fired the shot toward the vehicle along Billingsley Road. He fled to Kino Road, which is where his mother lives, the citation said. He was armed with a .380 Bersa handgun.

The BCSO did not describe a motive or reason Dillard fired the single round.

He is lodged at the Barren County Detention Center and is charged with first degree wanton endangerment.

Dillard is expected to appear in court on July 7 at 12:30 p.m., according to jail records.
