GLASGOW — A Glasgow man was arrested Wednesday after authorities discovered he had allegedly exposed himself to children.

Officer Grant Ward was dispatched to Glasgow Police headquarters and talked with two individuals who alleged an unnamed person had exposed himself to children earlier that day. They also told the officer they had video surveillance to support the allegations.

“I observed multiple videos of an elderly male, identified as Robert Grindle, unzip his pants and expose himself in front of the children,” according to an arrest citation.

Grindle, 71, allegedly pointed to his genitals and “took his cane and put it between his legs and began stroking his cane in a sexual manner.” He later removed his penis from his pants “in an attempt to have the children engage in sexual contact with him.”

Officer Ward said he traveled to an address and made contact with Grindle. He traveled to the Glasgow Police Department and spoke “freely” with the officer, the citation said.

The officer asked about the video shown to him earlier, and Grindle said the actions in the video never happened between him and the children. The officer continued to ask

“Grindle stated he did not know why he did it,” according to the citation.

He is charged with first degree sexual abuse (victim under 12 years of age). Grindle is scheduled to appear in district court Thursday, May 12 at 1 p.m.
