GLASGOW — Beginning Thursday, Jan. 20, all schools in the Glasgow Independent School District will be closed to in-person learning.

The announcement came around 3:30 Wednesdayafternoon via Facebook and Twitter that all Glasgow Schools will be utilizing NTI days for the remainder of the school week.

Tara Martin, Glasgow’s Supervisor of Instruction, told WCLU News fewer students have been able to attend the classroom due to testing positive for the virus or being exposed to it and the decision to use NTI days is a safety precaution.

“Our student attendance has been affected due to the increase in positive Covid-19 cases,” Martin said. “It was crucial for everyone’s safety to go to NTI in order to slow the spread of the virus in our district.”

Parents and students can still pick up breakfast from 8:00 am – 9:00 a.m. Thursday and Friday at Glasgow Middle and High School as well as the Highland and South Green Elementary Schools.

Lunch will also be available from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the same locations.

The school system also claimed student assignments will be provided by their school/teachers.
