Local police make several drug arrests during recent traffic stops

GLASGOW — Glasgow Police made a handful of drug arrests the past few days.

Glasgow Police arrested a Metcalfe County woman early Tuesday.

Police conducted a traffic stop along Humble Avenue. Christina Lynn, 47, of Summer Shade was searched, and police found methamphetamine inside her jacket pocket. Lynn was determined to be under the influence of drugs.

Lynn is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. She also faces traffic offenses.

Lynn is charged at the Barren County Detention Center.

In other arrests, police responded Monday to South Franklin Street in reference to serving a warrant.

Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the home. Officers determined Marquis Hunter, 30, was the resident. He was later arrested when police found marijuana inside a clothes hamper, seven boxes of high grade “wax” marijuana and a large amount of money inside the dresser. Five packages of “designer” marijuana was discovered inside a bedroom.

Hunter faces a charged of trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces), possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

Barren County College Street Campus was determined to be within 1,000 feet of Hunter’s home.

Another traffic stop along Samson Street led to an arrest.

Crystal Green, 42, of Glasgow faces various drug charges after police found methamphetamine inside her vehicle. She was also served three warrants.
