Updates – Barren County Road Closures/Openings

GLASGOW, Ky. – According to the the Barren County Judge/Executive and the Barren County Transportation Department; the following roads in Barren County are closed due to flooding:

  • Horton Rigdon Road
  • Slash Road

The following roads in Barren County have been reopened:

  • Poynter Road
  • A section of Parrish Road
  • Coral Hill-Lecta Road
  • Gateway Road
  • Highway 70 at the Barren-Metcalfe line
  • Highway 70 between school and Griderville
  • Merry Oaks-Railton Road near Howser Road
  • Highway 1297 near South Barren VFD Substation
  • 847 Goodnight Hiseville Road
  • Slash Road
  • Stovall Road
  • Oak Ridge School Road
  • Sexton Lane
  • 68/80 at Warren/Barren County line

In a press release Micheal Hale, Barren County Judge/Executive says, “All roadways are being closely monitored by the Transportation Department and Emergency Management personnel. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution when approaching water covered roadways. Crews have been dispatched to these known locations.”

The press release added, “If you see these barricades out please DO NOT go around them, or move them! For your safety and the safety of others please find alternate route.”
