Several file for seats on Hart County fiscal court ahead of May primary

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – The Hart County primary election continues to shape up as candidates file for office.

A handful of incumbents have refiled, and several newcomers are listed on a list of candidate filings.

Incumbents include Judge Executive Joe Choate (D), Sheriff Jeff Wilson (R), Jailer Israel Brown Bergenson (D), Coroner Anthony Roberts (R), Property Valuation Administrator Cindy Atwell (D) and Magistrate 3rd District Ronald Riordan (D), Magistrate 2nd District Ricky Alvey (D), Magistrate 4th District Doug Wells (R) and Magistrate 5th District Lee Miles (D).

Several newcomers are seeking seats on Hart County’s fiscal court. Those include Katherine (Kate) Kenny (R) for Magistrate 1st District, Danny Matthews (R) for Magistrate 1st District, Austin Grant (R) for Magistrate 1st District, Jackie Logsdon (D) for Magistrate 1st District and Mark Leahigh (R) for Magistrate 3Rd District.

Several names are in the running for 10th District Judge including Will Clauson, David Clarence Perkins, Matthew Roberts and Teresa McMahan.

Three constable candidates have filed, including William Tweedy (R) for Constable 3rd District, Terry Price (D) for Constable 4th District and Joseph Thompson (D) for Constable 5th District.

Candidates for Hart County Clerk and County Attorney includes Felicia Shelton (D) and Justin Baird (D), respectively.

Kentucky’s primary election is Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
