EDMONTON, Ky. — Metcalfe County Schools will dismiss early Friday.
The school system said Thursday that schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. The early dismissal is to allow students and staff time to attend the funeral of a Metcalfe County Schools employee.
Gayle Jessee died Tuesday, according to the school system.
“Ms. Gayle, a beloved cook at Metcalfe County High School, passed away from cancer on Tuesday,” according to a Metcalfe County Schools Facebook post.
Jessee’s funeral is scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Both are at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
