Wendell Sego, 80, of Brownsville passed away at 9:40 PM Saturday Aug. 21, 2021 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.
The Edmonson County native was a retired International Harvester employee, a retired Edmonson County Court bailiff, a member of Sunset Lodge #915 F&AM and a member of Silent Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was raised by his late uncle and aunt, Roy and Lucy Belle Doyle. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Lynn Sparks; a sister, Beulah Mae Cummings; and a half sister, Norma Oliver.
The family has chosen to have public services- however, due to heightened risk of COVID-19 exposure, requests that all visitors please wear a face covering while visiting. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hawkins Cemetery. Visitation will take place beginning at 11:00 AM Wednesday.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Barbara England Sego; two daughters, Sonja Jacobs (Paul) of Brownsville and Cindy Sego of Mammoth Cave; a son, Travis Sego of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Drew Massey, Tyler Massey, Frenda Sparks, Christian Sparks and Amy Davis; and six great grandchildren.
