Flooding impacts roads in Glasgow, Barren County Tuesday

UPDATE: Animals inside BRAWA are being evacuated and taken to the former Barren County Detention Center along Ford Drive.

The Barren County Swift Water Team has been deployed to western Barren County, according to Barren County Judge Executive Micheal Hale.

A boat has been requested at the East Brook Trailer Park along Columbia Avenue.

The Glasgow Fire Department was requested to help an entrapment along Happy Valley Road near Milton Avenue. Crews remain on the scene.

Happy Valley Road was flooded but water has receded, according to a caller.

GLASGOW, Ky. – Several roadways across Barren County and Glasgow are flooded.

Most low water areas are flooded, according to Barren County Judge Executive Micheal Hale. Other roadways continue to worsen.

U.S. 68 is closed at the Warren County/ Barren County line. The area of roadway is closed until further notice, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

In a unique situation, several streets within Glasgow’s city limits are flooded. Happy Valley Road is flooded, and a lot of cars were turning around to avoid high water, according to a caller. Glasgow Police was on the scene.

A flash flood warning is in effect until 10:45 a.m. for most of the area. A doppler indicated threat was observed by the National Weather Service at 6:50 a.m.
