Police charge man with drug, bail jumping charges

GLASGOW, Ky. — The Glasgow Police Department arrested a Fountain Run man after he cut his ankle monitor off.

Police responded to Columbia Avenue in reference to a complaint of a subject with active warrants. The subject was located at the intersection of New Salem Road and Columbia Avenue.

The subject was identified as Jonathan Kirk. He fled on foot and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.

Sgt. Wesley Hicks located methamphetamine inside his front pocket and confirmed he had removed his ankle monitor while on furlough. He had not returned to jail on his report date, a news release said.

Kirk is charged with second degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), first degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense, methamphetamine), first degree bail jumping and tampering with prisoner monitoring device.

He is lodged at the Barren County Jail
