Eligah “E.G.” Estep

Eligah “E.G.” Estep, 88, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021.

E.G. was born in Marion County, Kentucky to the late Ewing Dan and Gladyn Estep. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He provided for his family as a self-employed barber in the Highlands cutting hair for the Strathmoor Barber shop from 1971 until 2005 and later with Gardiner Lane Barber Shop from 2005 until his retirement in 2016. He was a long-time member of Southeast Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Joyce Ann Estep; siblings, Ewing Dan Estep, Jr. and Frances Pierce.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael Dwayne Estep and his wife Jill Estep, and grandsons, Jack Matthew Estep and Jay Peyton Estep.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.
