Today is the first day of early voting for the November general election. Barren County Court Clerk Helena Birdwell explains that anyone in Barren County can come to the clerk’s office and vote. There’s no appointment necessary. Voting takes place inside the office. An I.D .is required. You may notice people lined up outside at the walkup window between the government center and Subway. This is not the line for voting. This is for vehicle registrations, transfers auto tags and other business. Voting is only taking place inside. Birdwell says the clerk’s office will be open Saturdays from 8 until noon to accommodate voters.
