The Leachman KHSAA Girls State Golf tournament was completed today. Congratulations to Glasgow Senior Abbie Lee. She tied for 10th place in the tournament shooting a 76 and 77 in the two day event.
Lady Scottie Nina McMurtrey finished in 21st place with rounds of 79 and 80. Lady Scottie Bailey Birdsell did not qualify for the second day, shooting a 17 over 89 on Friday. Barren’s Bree Russell finished in 55th place, shooting 86 and 85. Taylor Gaunce shot a 97 yesterday in the opening round. Congratulations to all of our local golfers for a great showing in the state tournament at the Bowling Green Country Club this weekend.
Marshall County won the tournament. Individually Owensboro Apollo’s Macey Brown won the medalist honors shooting 71 and 74 in a one hole playoff to claim the victory;
