High school fall sports are moving forward after the KHSAA board recently voted to allow official practices to begin this week and Governor Andy Beshear chose not to overturn the decision.  For football, that means the first games will take place on September 11th, while the other fall sports can begin competition on September 7th.  The exception is golf, which due to the ability to easily social distance while competing, was allowed to begin playing matches in late July.  Glasgow high school will open up its football season at home in its new facility against Allen County-Scottsville on September 11th, while Barren County will also be at home that night against Monroe County.  Caverna will open that evening on the road at Breckinridge County.  Under normal circumstances, the football season would have gotten underway this past Friday, but the first three weeks of the season were canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic.  It is unclear at this time what limits will be placed on fan attendance, but the KHSAA is hoping to get that information out to schools sometime this week.
