The Bowling Green Police Department is investigating a stabbing which resulted in the death of a Bowling Green man.  On Monday at 9:46 PM, police received a call of a fight in the parking lot at the corner of Fairview Avenue and 31W Bypass.  Prior to police arriving, a vehicle left the scene with the victim inside.  Responding officers were able to stop the vehicle at the corner of 6th and State Streets.  An ambulance was summoned for the victim and he was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  Preliminary investigation revealed he had been stabbed once in the torso.  The victim is 55 year-old Phillip P. Cox of Bowling Green.  His body has been taken to Louisville where an autopsy will be performed.

 

Police questioned the female driver of the vehicle but no one has been charged for the homicide.  The investigation continues.
