Geraldine Sherfey, 70, of Glasgow Kentucky passed away May 20, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Geraldine was born on May 11, 1956 to Eugene and Ann Honeycutt. Geraldine was a 1974 graduate of Hiseville High School. She was the Office Manager at the local Kmart store from June 1976 – July 2015. She was also the bookkeeper for her and her husband Marty’s trucking company. She also helped organize and start the first soup kitchen in Glasgow / Barren county where she served as Treasurer on the Soup Kitchen Board.
She loved life. She loved her family and friends. She loved to travel. She also helped her sister, Tammie, take care of their parents for years at their ending of life. She was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by many, her family and all her friends. Her grandson, Ryder Sherfey, was the most special thing to her. She always said “he was her medicine that made her feel better.”
In addition to her parents, Eugene and Ann Honeycutt, Geraldine was preceded in death by two brothers- Frankie and Jerry Honeycutt. Also a brother-in-law, Danny Sherfey. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Marty Sherfey, her son- Chris Sherfey (Gina), and one grandson- Ryder.She is also survived by her sister Tammie Davidson, a special niece Tiffany Dawn Smith (Eric), and sister Patricia Dyer (Jerry). A special sister-in-law Nancy Mathews (Kelly) and brother-in-law Timmy Sherfey (Shelby). Geraldine also had many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Services will be held Tuesday May 26, 2026 from 9AM-2PM, with funeral service starting at 2PM at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home with burial at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
