On the night of May 22nd, the Cave City Police Department responded to an alarming incident at the Travel Inn Hotel.

At approximately 9:45 PM, Officer Wesley Hicks arrived at the hotel following reports of a subject screaming inside one of the rooms.

Upon arrival, Officer Hicks heard loud screaming from inside the room, indicating someone might be in distress. Entering the room, Officer Hicks found Adrian Boyd, lying on the floor in a state of extreme agitation. Boyd was screaming that someone was shooting at him and chasing him. It quickly became evident that Boyd was experiencing severe hallucinations, consistent with being manifestly under the influence of drugs.

In plain view on the floor, officers found a glass pipe containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine. Boyd was medically cleared at the scene and subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (methamphetamine). He was then transported to Barren County Jail.

Officer Hicks was supported at the scene by Officers Garth Avery and Billy Courtway.
