Mrs. Kathleen Daugherty Embry, age 78, of Antioch, TN, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, at her residence.

Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 2:00pm at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation with the family will be begin at 10:00am until time of service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Bowling Green Gardens Cemetery.

Kathleen was born October 20, 1945, in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Lester Daugherty and the late Hazel Morris Daugherty. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Larry Embry, five brothers, two sisters and her beloved dog Skittles.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Connelly (Casey) of Antioch, TN; like an adopted daughter, Tracy Hill (Stuart); two brothers, Rev. David Daugherty (Sandra) of Auburn, KY, Bobby Daugherty of Alvaton, KY; two sisters, Vickie Grant of Plum Springs, KY, Reda Bray (Phillip) of Bowling Green, KY; brother-in-law, Frank Buchanon. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Kathleen was a faithful member at Living Hope Baptist Church and served many years as a greeter and several other roles as a servant. Her husband pastored many churches and Kathleen followed him as a faithful pastor’s wife. She was dedicated to reading and studying her Bible. She also loved to read books by her favorite author, Max Lucado. Kathleen was a beautiful soul and genuine through and through. She gave love, encouragement, and precious Bible wisdom to all she came in contact with. She put others before herself. She was known to make her famous pimento cheese and take to employees at the funeral homes and many other places. Heaven certainly gained a sweet angel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donation be made to the American Cancer Society or Living Hope Baptist Church.
