Loraine Blanton, age 77 of Brownsville, departed this life on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on December 29, 1947 to the late Rev. Elzie and Ella Hunt Jaggers. She was married to her best friend and devoted husband, David Blanton, who survives.
Loraine retired as a unit clerk from both TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital and MediPlex. She was saved when she was eleven years old at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church, and later joined Chalybeate United Baptist Church, where she remained a member.
Besides her husband, David, she leaves to honor her memory— her children, Chris Sanders (Stephanie) of Brownsville, Chad Sanders (Kristi) of Owensboro, Shauna Wilson (Grant) of Bowling Green, Jeremy Blanton (Alisa) of Russellville and Kieshia Kelly (Anthony); her grandchildren, Kelsey Sanders, Paige Herron (Taylor), Karli Clark (Mason), Maci Sanders, Ella Wilson, Addy Wilson, Jack Blanton, Joe Blanton, Alex Meinhardt (Cody), Cameron Whitfill, Jacob Scott, Cody Scott (Janie), Ethan Kelly and Aiden Kelly; her sister, Bernice Carroll; special niece, Leiann Hope; several nieces, nephews and a great-grandchild expected to be born in October.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Leora Meredith, Mary Vincent, Lillie Phillips, Elva “Red” Meredith, Raymond Jaggers, Romer Jaggers, Les Jaggers and three infant siblings.
Interment will be Fairview Church Cemetery.
