Mrs. Ruby (Owens) Rush of Louisville, Kentucky, formally of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the Franciscan Health Center in Louisville, Kentucky having attained the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 3 days. She was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Monday, March 13, 1933, the daughter of James E. and Nancy E. (Scott) Owens. Mrs. Rush was of the Baptist faith, and attended the Bow School House Church. She was a loving mother, homemaker, she enjoyed bingo, and quilting. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Rush, whom she wed on Sunday, June 5, 1955, sister, Regina Wray, brothers, Perry Owens, and Donnie Owens.
She is survived by her children, Harold K. Rush, Lynda Fischer, Bonny (& Robert) Parker, Charles R. Rush all of Louisville, Kentucky, sisters, Jewell York, Margaret Burns, aunt, Maedell Daniel all of Burkesville, Kentucky, brother-in-law, Edward Rush of Louisville, Kentucky, grandchild, Jennifer, special friends/bingo buddies, Frank, and Jerry.
The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. Noon until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Bow House School Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky.
