Mrs. Janie Carol Monday Teeters

Mrs. Janie Carol Monday Teeters, age 74, of Tompkinsville, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Janie was born in Tompkinsville, on April 24, 1950, to the late Carl Eugene Monday and Mary Jane Carter Monday. Janie retired from Joe Harrison Carter Elementary, where she taught for twenty-seven years.  She was a member of the Rock Bridge Missionary Baptist Church. Janie enjoyed painting classes, and had a love for quilting, gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years Hal Carter Teeters of Tompkinsville, her three children; Laurie Larty and husband Jim of Byrdstown, Tennessee, April Teeters and companion Ty Jackson of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Josh Teeters of Tompkinsville. Three siblings; Marsha Cain and husband Junior, Sherry Crawford and companion Bobby, and Barry Monday, all of Tompkinsville. One granddaughter Madison McClellan and husband Dodge of Byrdstown, and two great-grandchildren; Emmy & Emery McClellan also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Old Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Bro. Gary Emberton will be officiating the service.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning after 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Old Mt. Hermon Cemetery, or to Breast Cancer Research in memory of Janie.

Honorary Pallbearers: Gary Dubree, Clifford Stephens, Roger Monday, David Miller, Timothy “Birddog” Humes, & Former Students and Friends.
