Frances Ruth Glasscock, age 85, passed away in Franklin, Kentucky on April 7, 2024. The Warren County native was born to the late Roy Washington and Ruth Thelma (Upton) VanMeter in January of 1939. Frances enjoyed playing cards, cooking for her family, and cheering on the U.K. Wildcats. She was also a member of Plano Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John C. Glasscock, Sr. and their son John ‘Johnny’ Glasscock, Jr.
Survivors include her children; Sheila ‘Hotdog’ Glasscock, Cindy Poston, Jackie Wright and her husband Ricky, and Scotty Glasscock and his wife Tina. One brother Roy David VanMeter and his wife Brenda, ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, her little dog Milo, and a host of extended family also survives.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. all at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Burial will follow at Old Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
