Damon Clark, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, (March 9, 2024).
Damon was born on December 31, 1934 in Grayson County, KY, to his parents William Robert Clark and Velma Grace Stinson.
He attended Caneyville High School until 10th grade. Later in life he earned his GED at the age of 66. Damon worked for Lorillard Tobacco Company in Louisville as a maintenance mechanic continuously from age 18 until he retired in 1985. After moving back to Grayson County from Louisville in 1989, he worked for T.A.C as a driver at the Senior Citizen Center in Leitchfield for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed cars, fishing, and hunting and loved watching wrestling, sports and classic television shows.
Damon married Dollye Lee Hudson who passed in 2006, on April 16, 1955. They were the proud and loving parents of four sons; Mike (Jeri) of St. Petersburg, FL, Bob (Jane) of Leitchfield, Bill of Leitchfield, and Jamie (Dee Ann) of Louisville; papaw to eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his loving little Hound Dog, “Buddy.”
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (March 16, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Lee Schroerlucke will be officiating. Burial will be in the South Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Damon’s memory to his favorite charity, St, Jude Children’s Hospital.
