The gray, rainy weather Friday, March 8th stood in stark contrast to the atmosphere within the All About Me Boutique. Ann Herald and Gina Lyons, co-owners of the boutique, welcomed patrons and friends alike to the 11 a.m ribbon cutting to celebrate the stores Glasgow location.

The opening of the boutique in March of 2020 came just before the months long COVID shutdown. While this was a difficult time for many, small businesses especially were stressed to their financial breaking points. While many of the businesses were unable to keep their doors open, Herald and Lyons, with the support of their customers, were able to persevere.

The ribbon cutting began with Erin Hiles, Barren Inc.’s director of membership and programs, began the event with a few words about the importance of small businesses before turning the microphone over to Glasgow Mayor Henry Royse. “We’re so excited to see you invest in the community,” he said. “You’ve picked a good place to land.”

While Herald and Lyons both expressed their gratitude to the audience, Lyons took a moment to thank another local small business owner.

“Let me just say that there’s really three of us,” she said. “We determined that everyone loves t-shirts, but we can’t sell t-shirts, but, we have a friend that can and our friend is here with us today.”

Making her way through the crowd, Kayleigh Gibson, owner of Calligraphy Creations, to the mic to speak about how “exciting it has been to watch All About Me grow.”

As the ribbon was cut, audience members were encouraged to enjoy refreshments and peruse the store wares. Both owners were very pleased with the turn out, and were excited to see what the future holds for the All About Me Boutique.
