Ollie Mae “Nanny” Sexton, 82, of Hardyville passed away on March 4, 2024 at Baptist Health Hardin Hospital with her family by her side.

Ollie was born on May, 24 1941 in Monroe, KY to the late JB Nunn and Mae Hawkins Nunn. She married the love of her life, Lindell Sexton, on June 12, 1959. From that union came two sons, Mark and Tim, of whom Ollie always told others that she had “the best sons in the world.” Ollie was also proud of and loved her immediate family dearly as she would tell others that God had blessed her with two wonderful daughters-in-law as well as over a dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ollie wore many hats throughout her life as she held several public jobs and also babysit for numerous children of several generations throughout Hart County. People would often say “there is Ollie’s trolly” when they would see her in public with the children she babysat. Of all the hats Ollie wore, the one most important to her was that of a preacher’s wife after her husband, Bro. Lindell Hurrell, was called to preach in 1966.

Ollie was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bro. Lindell Sexton; her parents; and siblings: Lillian Hiser, Joby Nunn, Mary Robertson, Thurman Nunn, Robert Nunn, William Nunn, and infant brother Herbert Nunn.

Ollie is survived by her two sons, Tim (Monica) Sexton of Hardyville and Mark (Kim) Sexton of Hardyville; Brothers-in-law, Kenneth Robertson, WT (Bonnie) Sexton, Sisters- in-law, Helon Nunn, Betty Biggs; grandchildren Matthew (Tiffany) Sexton of Glasgow, Joey (Lori) Sexton of Munfordville, Danielle (Doug) Ponder of Hardyville, Jacob (Morgan) Sexton of Hardyville and Jared (Abigail) Sexton of Lawrenceburg and a host of other family and friends. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren who she adored; Chandon Sexton,  Bryson Sexton, Keyleigh Sexton, MaKennah Sexton, Jayden Sexton, Mia Sexton, Hannah Ponder, Elias Sexton and Dawson Sexton. Ollie is also survived by special children Darris and Karen Waters, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral arrangements were made by Winn Funeral Home with the visitation being held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7 from 4-8 pm and on Friday, March 8 from 9 am until time of service at the church. Funeral services will be held at Faith Independent Church on Friday, March 8 at 11 am. Ollie Mae will be buried at Whickerville Cemetery in Hart County, Kentucky.
