Mrs. Brenda (Cary) Neal, of Burkesville, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 75 years, 3 months and 18 days. She was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on Tuesday, November 9, 1948, the daughter of Carson Carry & Inell (Traylor) Gilstrap. She was of the Christian faith, and a member of the Pleasant Hill Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sarah Hope Guffey.
She is survived by her husband, James Robert “Bobby” Neal, whom she wed on December 24, 1966, children, Jimmy (& Glenna) Neal of Somersville, South Carolina, Angie (& Donal) Key, Amanda (& Eddy) Secula, both of Burkesville, sibling, Janice (& Jim) Stull of Dayton, Ohio, Becky Preist of Frankfort, Kentucky, Theresa (& Jim) Thomson of West Port, Kentucky, Malcolm Cary of California, Anita (& John) Sanders of St. Petersburg, Florida, grandchildren, Lynn Neal, Sean (& Jackie) Neal, Jacob Guffey, Caleb (& Ally) Guffey, Eddy Secula, Andrew Secula, Anna Secula, Seth Key, and Dreama Key, great-grandkids, Warren Gervais, Sarah Guffey, Bryce Guffey, and Garner Key.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 12:00 noon, C.S. T. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro Jimmy Bunch officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2024, beginning at 5 p.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday. Burial will be in the Gains Hill Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
