A. Wayne Holder, 80, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully Feb. 27, 2024, in Bowling Green surrounded by his family. He was born in Louisville on July 13, 1943, to the late Elmore Holder and Wanda Lindsey, and raised by his grandparents Morgan and Hallie Holder. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Delilah Elizabeth Dalton Holder.

Wayne retired from Textron Aviation as a machinist and tool and die maker after decades of service. He was a devout Christian who adored his family and three dogs. He loved working on old cars, frequenting the local flea market and watching Westerns. He could take anything apart and put it back together. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by five daughters, Robin Epperson (Todd), Tonia Moore (Jay), Rhonda Schmidt (Bryan), Karen Bliven (Rich) and Kim Mooney (David); 14 grandchildren, Kristy Koerner (Chris) , Amanda Champlin (Danny), Meagan Collins (Tyler), Emily Mathew (Lucas), Brandon Epperson (Christina), Zach Harper (Stefany), Chase Showen (Vinnie), Matt Cherry (Camiel), Sesily Showen, Sarah Bishop (Chad), Morgan Whittinghill (Shane), Cameron Epperson (Chris), Hallie Mooney and Sophie Mooney; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Marilyn, Lincoln, Eden, Iden, Casper, Joseph, Arthur and Skyler; sister, Faye Holbert, half sister Janet Hornek, half brother Chuck Holder, beloved Aunt Lova Vincent, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is also preceded in death by sister, Linda Burnett, and half brother James Ray Holder.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, with a funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home at 3098 Louisville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101. Interment at Wingfield Family Cemetery at Wingfield Baptist Church to immediately follow. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
