Lillie Melinda (Linda) Williams, age 82, went home to be with her LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully in her sleep, on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Hosparus Health Inpatient Care Center located in the Norton Healthcare Pavilion in downtown, Louisville, KY, with her children by her side.

She was born on February 22, 1941, in Edmonson County. She was the eldest daughter of the late Homer and Etta Lindsey Chambers.

Linda spent her life devoted to helping and serving others. For many years, she worked at the Grayson County Hospital as a Nursing Assistant; she provided excellent care in the Med/Surg Department and received employee of the year in 1986. Additionally, she worked at Aide Acres nursing home and Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center Home Health, but more than anything, she loved Jesus and her family. She was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, great grandmother, and a great-great grandmother. She was bold in her faith and every Saturday night she made sure her phone was charged so she could listen to her pastor on the radio. She loved bowling, playing games on the Wii with her family, working crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, gardening, and bird watching. She was a gift from God and will truly be missed.

She is survived by five children, Jackie Decker (Glendal), Mary Anne Hack (Roger), David Logsdon, Sr.  (Trish), Chris Logsdon (Jessica), Jason Logsdon (Chandra); nineteen grandchildren, Reena Decker (Tracey), Tabitha Harper (Chris), Madison Harrison, Gwen Franich (Chad), Brooke Anson (Adam), David Logsdon, Jr., Jessica Logsdon, Scotty Hack (Tobie), Kassie Decker (Jonathan), Karrie Rand (Jr.), Michael Logsdon, Damian Logsdon, Brandon Logsdon, Leah Crawford (Brenis), Felicia Logsdon, Austin Parks, Ethan Parks, Jillian Nugent, Ali Nugent; twenty-five great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Chambers (Clara), Charles Chambers (Christina); five sisters, Kathy Moutardier (Larry), Sybil Small, Faye Pierce (Oran), Mary Ann Chambers, Rita Meredith (Hank); one very devoted caregiver, Becky Hughes. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends also survive.

Other than her parents, Linda was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, Ronnie, and Michael Chambers; two sisters, Marilyn Barnes and Joyce Pennington.

A service to celebrate and honor Linda’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, KY. Brother Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be at the Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweeden, Edmonson County, KY.

Visitation will be held at Dermitt Funeral Home on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 Tuesday until time of services.
