Robert “Eugene” Kerr, Sr., age 80, of Bonnieville, KY, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023. He was a member at Mt. Beulah Methodist Church in Munfordville, KY and a member of Robinson Lodge #266 F.&A.M. in Louisville, KY. Eugene was always quick to tell a joke and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Kerr; his mother, Clara Murphy Kerr; three sisters, Margie Sharpensteen Fulkerson, Charlene Sharpensteen, and Clara “Tinki” Sharpensteen; two brothers, Albert “Bud” Sharpensteen and Charles Sharpensteen.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Kerr; one daughter, Angel Smith (Tim), Eggleston, VA; five sons, Todd Kerr (Melissa), Salem, IN, Robert “Bubby” Kerr, Jr. (Kendrea), Louisville, KY, Jerry Blocker (Kristin), Louisville, KY, David Blocker (Britney), Shepherdsville, KY, and Michael Blocker (Tara), Louisville, KY; one brother, Donnie Kerr (June), Shepherdsville, KY; one sister, Barbara Kerr Hood, Munfordville, KY; one sister-in-law, Helen Sharpensteen, Louisville, KY; 19 grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Matthew, Tabitha, Robby, Alanna, AJ, Hannah, Bailey, Sawyer, Brenna, Lexus, Kayla, Kimberleigh, Mason, Lexie, Nathan, Liam, and Levi; 16 great-grandchildren, Dalton, Collin, Charlie, Madi, Jordan, Michael, Teddy, Jada, James, Synciere, Bentley, Kaylee, Augustus, Jasper, Emmett, and Bradley; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members also survive.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM CT and again on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 9:00 AM CT to 12:00 PM CT at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM CT on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Brooks Funeral Home with his son-in-law Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial services will follow at Hubbard Cemetery in Munfordville, KY.
