Mr. Ervin Rudolph Krueger

Mr. Ervin Rudolph Krueger, age 85, of Hestand, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.  Ervin was born in Homer, Illinois on March 10, 1938, a son of the late Rudolph John Amel and Goldie Mae Lamb Krueger.  He and his wife moved to Monroe County after living in Illinois for fifty years, where Ervin was a Professional Firefighter for the University of Illinois.  He was also a contractor, an expert in woodworking and training horses.

Ervin is survived by his children, Stephanie Collins and husband Clarence of London, Kentucky, Jan Shelmerdine and husband Tom of Greensboro, North Carolina, Diana Rissellmann, of West Bend, Indiana, Lisa Mark and husband Bill of Richmond, Virginia, Heather Manint and husband Michael of Champaigne, Illinois, Jeffrey Krueger, of Hestand, Kentucky and Gary Shallenberger and wife Christy of Champaigne, Illinois.  Two sisters; Marilyn Cannon and Marlene Breen, both of Illinois, fourteen grandchildren; Valerie Reist (Tyler), Joey Rissellmann, Lauren Shelmerdine, Samantha Wells, Kaitlin Webb (Janelle), Anne Shelmerdine, Zachary Krueger, Mason Manint (Lauren), Madison Manint, Matthew Manint, Nikki Rissellmann, Ian Mark, Lina Mark, and Mitchell Shallenberger. Six great-grandchildren along with his beloved dog, Pete also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Leigh (Young) Krueger, and three siblings; Marcella Fulton, Everett Krueger, and Carol Ann Happ.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with interment to take place in Monroe County Memorial Lawn Mausoleum.    Dr. Tony Carter will officiate the service.

Visitation with the family will be held from Noon on Friday, until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
