Wilma Jean Turner, age 91, of Cave City, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. She was a Barren County native and a member of the Horse Cave Church of Christ. She graduated from Cave City High School and then attended Western Kentucky University where she received her teaching degree and went on to teach in the Hodgenville area. She and her first husband ran the Cave City Variety Store for many years. She worked for J.B. Gardner insurance, Nunn insurance, and retired from Houk Insurance. She was a member of the Caveland Jazzy Red Hat Club. She loved to travel.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, O.M. Blakey; her second husband, W.G. Turner; several brothers and sisters; her parents, W.G. and Ethel Lyons.
She is survived by two step-sons, Steve Turner and Marvin Blakey; several nieces nephews, and a host of friends and cousins; her special friend and caregiver, Judy Nall.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Winn Funeral Home with a Private Burial to be held after. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 9 AM until time of service at 12 PM.
